The tradition of Halloween in America has been about children dressing up in costumes and going door to door like little beggars expecting to receive candy. As we age we give up the door to door begging and instead attend parties at work, school and the homes of friends. It’s at these parties where some of us have given up the idea of wearing silly or scary costumes and instead gone for the more controversial kind. Some of these costumes may be meant to make political statements or cause conversation while others have just one purpose and that is to offend. I suppose one can argue that being controversial is just as scary as any sort of monster or zombie costume as offense is in the eye of the beholder. So behold….
