1. Myth: The hymen breaks when a woman loses her virginity


The hymen is an elastic membrane that is just inside the vagina. It doesn’t cover the vagina and does not need to be pierced for intercourse to happen. Furthermore, it can be torn from all kinds of activities, such as horseback riding, inserting a tampon, or pelvic exam by a doctor.

2. Myth: Men think about sex every seven seconds


Everyone has hear this, but once you really start to think about it, you realize how utterly crazy that sounds. If anyone thought of sex that often, they’d have no time for anything else. A study done by Ohio State University found that men thought about sex 19 times a day, only one more time than they thought about food which came in at 18 times a day.

3. Myth: Men “must have sex”.


Nope, they don’t. Celibacy is not a health crisis. It’s a lie designed by men to bully women into sex. Sperm that are not ejaculated by a man are simply broken down and reabsorbed by the body. So if you don’t want sex, say no!

4. Myth: Men want sex more than women do.


Another myth that just won’t die. Women require a little more time to reach peak arousal than men do, but they want sex just as frequently as men.

5. Myth: Birth control pills cause weight gain.


There have been 44 studies analyzing this, and all of them concluded that it doesn’t cause women to gain weight.

6. Myth: Different positions will influence your baby’s gender.


Not true at all. The gender is determined at the time of conception, when a chromosome from the sperm cell, either X or Y, fuses with the X chromosome in the egg cell. XX will be a female. XY will be a male.

7. Myth: Sex is great exercise.


While there are many benefits of being intimate with someone, don’t plan to lose weight by having sex. On average, humans only burn 21 calories from start to finish.
