In defense of offending people who deserve it

This culture of being offended by everything, all the time is annoying. Just because someone is offended doesn’t automatically make them right, it just makes them sensitive. This piece is a defense of offending people who deserve it and you know who deserves to be offended? Everyone who is so automatically offended. You many even get offended while reading this and to that I say great because you effing deserve it.

I read a blog a while ago by Oliver Emberton and he says: “if you’re not pissing someone off, you probably aren’t doing anything important.” He’s mostly right. People are most often annoyed by successful people or people who are making an impact on society than they are by nameless people doing nothing notable except on the internet. The internet has made the nobody into the somebody and because of that our ability to take offense has seen a meteoric rise. These days you can’t speak without offending someone and I’ll be honest, I don’t much care for it. I’d like to be able to make a salient point in a discussion without having to check my every phrase for inherent and or systemic sexism, racism or whateverism. I hate having to constantly add addendums to my posts or tweets because everyone in the world has become so absolutely pussified that I end up offending someone by accident because I am unable to keep up with all the many hidden ways one can display their “privilege”. Enough is enough, some people deserve to be offended.

People who spend their days looking to be offended deserve what they get. It is time we get back to raising humans with backbones. I grew up hearing that only sticks and stones can break my bones, but names will never hurt me and it is true. I will and I have gone after the easily offended with some of the most offensive stuff you can imagine because people need to stop living in bubbles. They need to toughen up. I don’t need to be schooled about sexism and racism by people who don’t understand that it isn’t racist to dress up as Moana for Halloween and it isn’t sexist to hold open a door for me – it’s friggen courteous.People who cry a river when the word cunt is printed or spoken need to hear it more often. It’s a word, for Christ’s sake, you won’t melt or have your head cleaved from your body by seeing it – it’s a word not a Claymore.

It really is time to start seriously checking these adult babies with over-sensitive egos and the way to do it is to stop placating their need to control every word you say and every feeling you have. Enough is enough, people who are always offended by everything deserve to be offended, it’s the only way to end the madness. Do it for society, do it for your sex and by God, do it for your country!

‘Merica where pussified people deserve to be offended and offended often, not to be confused with Canadians – they really are that nice and we can just leave them alone.
