If you need a good laugh, you can always count on Epic Rap Battles in History. Hit their YouTube channel, and two minutes later you’ll have something to chuckle about all day. You probably shouldn’t do that at work, though, unless your boss is super cool with bluer language.
Don’t worry if you’re only armed with a passing junior high school knowledge of history and pop culture. That’s plenty to enjoy the heck out of our favourite seven faux historical rap battles.
7. Miley Cyrus vs. Joan of Arc
Saint Joan brings the fire (no pun intended) when the queen of teeny porn pop tries to step to her.
6. Ghandi vs. MLK Jr.
Key and Peele absolutely slay in what is probably the most inappropriate rap battle ever.
5. Santa Claus vs. Moses
After watching this, you’ll be able to tell your friends that Snoop Dogg played Moses once. Then you’ll have to prove it.
4. Ben Franklin vs. Billy Mays
This is so hilarious and fabulously tasteless that you will probably show everyone but your parents.
3. Bob Ross vs. Pablo Picasso
High brow versus something people watch while they’re high yields comic gold.
2. Ash Ketchum vs. Charles Darwin
This is a lot funnier than you think it’s going to be. No, it really is. It was number one for a little bit.
But number 1 ultimately goes to J.R.R. Tolkien vs. George R.R. Martin.
There is something deeply satisfying about Tolkien shredding the vulgar Martin apart…with vulgarity. The only flaw is that the actor playing Tolkien sounds like Jimmy Stewart half the time.
